For the past year-and-a-half in this studio apt I’ve taken my meals perched on the edge of the futon sofa/bed, hunched over a tiny end table, all the while fantasizing about this chunky round table and these Danish-style chairs in chocolate. But I’ve held off, party because I want to move next Fall and who knows what’ll look good in my new place, and party because, being part Scots-Irish, I’m a cheap bastard. Well, yesterday I broke down and just decided to get something cheap and serviceable at Surprise! Suprise! around the corner. And, I love it! It really makes the apartment look a lot more civilized, and it’s nice being able to take my meals at a real table like a normal person. Also, it gives me a place to set things while I’m trying to cook. (What you can’t see in this photo is that my bed is actually just two feet behind the nearest chair.)
